Grout Taxibus Ltd. t/a Chelmsford Taxibus grew from a small group of individual taxi operators in Chelmsford in 1974.

The business grew quickly and was incorporated in 1987 as Chelmsford Cab Co. Ltd.

The company was re-named Group Taxibus Ltd. in order to reflect more accurately the comprehensive range of passenger transport facilities provided by the company.

In association with our sister company AirportcarZ the group now operate nearly 200 vehicles with operating centres at Chelmsford, Stansted Airport, Manchester International Airport, Edinburgh International Airport and Glasgow Airport.

The Company has always been in the forefront of private hire development and was the first in Chelmsford to install a computerised booking and despatch system, to use vehicles larger than 5 seats and has now developed a specialisation in wheelchair accessible vehicles.

The Company's Management have many years of experience within the Road Passenger Transport Industry. Four of the Senior Managers hold Certificates of Professional Competency in National Passenger Transport Operations.
